Tracker is just unusable with Jaunty/ext4 from an upgrade.
I removed it, and installed beagle : indexing is fine, longer but system
doesn't slow down like tracker... and it doesn't hang.
I agree with the last post, this bug have to be fixed before the final

attention of those working with this bug. AFAIK this bug came somewhere
around 2.6.16 or 2.6.17, when a new I/O scheduler was introduced (i
belive). I've tried with differend schedulers (AS, CFQ and deadline) and
they didn't improve

tested it by moving my archived copy of ~/.evolution/calendars/local

Not as far as I can tell. There is no hibernate involved (at least since
last boot). And the odd thing is that the machine went from apparently
suspended (suspend light on) to apparently turned off (no suspend light,
normal boot, but plenty of battery) while being carried around.

appears at the keystrokes. It looks like a change in character encoding.
I could realized they were "amaric" character, and it was becaus scim
had activated when I h
Since scim is something very obscure, and something that the average
user won't ever use, I suggest that it weren't installed by default
