I experienced nearly the same bug, but I did a fresh install of Jaunty.
I used the LiveCD installer. When I had to choose the keyboard layout I kept
the proposed value (german) = the new feature in Jaunty when a keyboard layout
automatically proposed.
When I first booted from hard disk I was una

not just shows a notification icon in the panel, even if I'm already
logged in, or just if I log out and back in again? How does this play

Hi,
Simply open a terminal, then add command "sudo" before the name of the
file to execute. Before executing, you should check whether you have the
proper permissions or not (755 would be fine).
For instance:
$ sudo ./ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run
or
$ sudo sh ati-driver-installer-9

directly attached to the machine running Jaunty, we could see if the
problem is related to the net backend.

Thanks for your bugreport.
This looks like the mirror you use (ubuntu.org.ua) is out of date. This

I just ran into this issue with the notifications for media being synced
being stupid on my SD card slot.
These things should either be focused and upfront, or special cased like
audio/brightness adjustments are in osd-notify so that these (very
important, for users of FAT) notifications can _NOT_
