I marked the bug as duplicate. It's a similar bug to #139435. On
jaunty, I believe intrepid introduced it (via linux kernel upgrade) all
memory maps are randomized apart from the executable (unless PIE which
I'm using Jaunty with UXA now, and the caps to the sphere show fine...
not sure about the cube specifically. I'll check that.

iwlagn driver crashes on
The problem started a few days ago.
I have no issue on playing video files with vlc but the problem occures when i
want to close vlc. Then it freezes out and after a wile it quits the
nothing is being reported. Only when i restart the OS or logout and login again
apport reports the VLC issue
the username should not be an issue, could you try on jaunty now?
otherwise could you run /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r on a command line, try to
connect the server and copy the log there?

I just did some testing this weekend on my laptop, and indeed I did not
find gvfs (or any other) processes remaining after log off in jaunty. I
cannot give a more complete answer than that, though, as I no longer
have access to the original network with mounted cifs shares, use cases,
etc., etc.,

How is your network defined ? Using NetworkManager or by providing some
contents into /etc/network/interfaces ? When you say "as they did in
8.10", you mean that it used to work in 8.10 ? Did you change the way
your network is defined between versions ?
