Note that the buggy Python was used for at least some hours also on the
build servers and can have corrupted some packages. One package I know
of is the i386 version of HPLIP 3.9.2-3ubuntu2. See bug 349781. I am
rebuilding this package now as the build server should use the fixed
version now.

Also, just another data point: I had a chance to test this anomaly on
another system that was also upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10 and has a
LaserJet 1020 attached to it, and it has identical behaviour so I don't
think it is specific to this

Bug still applies also to jaunty version 2.26.0-0ubuntu3 of epiphany.
IMHO there are only 2 ways out of this:
a) fix it in the deb package with a patch by the maintainer
b) close this bug as wontfix ( -> it's what upstream did because of the change
to webkit in next release - hopefully)
