(radeon) or ATI fglrx accellerated driver.
Processing with default renderer (JAVA 2D) is inusable. Openoffice,

Binary package hint: software-properties-gtk
This application consistently sucks up 90+% cpu. While it doesn't crash,
downloading package lists should make my laptop start overheating. That
seems... wrong, to me.
Take a gander at the screenshot.

The lifehacker.com-url works as expected, but I get "HTTP Error:
Connection terminated unexpectedly" with the laptopmag.com-url.
So it is a little different from yours, but still quite similar. I have
Intrepid and Firefox 3.0.7.

in SYSTEM mode, CLC tries to discover elastic IPs from CC even tho

Had same issue with Optiplex 760. Below is a link to the download for
the linux 2.6 driver for this nic.

Does this problem disappear if you enable dynroot via dpkg-reconfigure
openafs-client? If so, it's fixed in 1.4.8.dfsg1-1 and later, which
uses dynroot by default.
