another VT, then that will start another session with ConsoleKit
regardless of whether it is the same user ID. If you open a gnome-

Some old libs (glib, etc.) had been installed in /usr/local/lib/ and these have
been used instead of the new correct ones in /usr/lib/.
This had been necessary in Ubuntu 8.04 to run vmware server.

This is a old issue I believe it is to do with the Live FS that is the
default burning level on Vista. I have now choose a different level
other then the default Vista and it seems to work.
That is the solution for now, maybe the Vista LiveFS is a pripority to
the Vista Operation System.

Sorry for not reporting before, but I changed back to Hardy and disabled
Compiz in the end of January. This for general stability reasons, Hardy
performs more solid on my T61, and I can't risk interruptions on my work

The thing that I installed automatically out of synaptic was Adobe Air,
when I clicked on the install button for TweetDeck or Twhirl in their

Hm, I tried dropping the patch on a Samsung NC10 and a Dell Latitude
D430. On both, brightness changes have far too many steps which renders
the brightness keys hard to use.

this bug is for all ati hybrid cards. To fix it you have to download the
newest ati driver from http://ati.amd.com. Then you copy it to a usb
stick. Now you can reboot. After restart of the system you should be in
a bash. There you must mount the usb stick and run the installer, e.g.
./ati.
I can confirm this on Mythbuntu Intrepid. Rescue boot & xfix works for
me but as soon as I use Jockey to load the fglrx driver, the system will
hang at the next reboot before loading GDM with a black screen, totally
unresponsive system and my monitor telling me it detected an unsupported
video mode
