Removed the packages, and xrandr stil produces the correct modes.
I find the hardware explanation odd, as the screen did work good, and I moved

This can also be one of the utilities launched during postint (and thus not

They are not used anymore now (in Debian, 3.0.0-1 at least). Therefore, the

I finally get a mic that works in Skype now. The digital input comes set
to 50% and works well at that setting. This makes me very happy!
The PCM playback does not distort anymore but some Hulu videos have the
sound levels recorded kinda low and they are hard to hear now. Amarok
