Problem:
I have two machines 8.04 and 8.10
I have installed samba on both machines and shared a folder on both
machines.
I have enabled ufw on both machines.
on 8.04 the samba ports i have opened are:
139:tcpALLOW 192.168.1.0/24
138:udpALLOW 192.168.1
Additionaly...if i run findsmb on 8.10 machine with ufw enabled...it
only shows that 8.10 in the list that findsmb returns. and vice versa
for the 8.04 machine
If I disable the ufw and run findsmb again from 8.10then findsmb
shows both 8.10 and 8.04 on the network. and vice versa for 8.04 mach
I get it whenever I use Totem. It's similar to either a slower video card
or older processor. I'm not sure about the sound. I've uninstalled Totem
and reinstalled it and it doesn't change.

Sorry for the extremely delayed response to a bug you reported quite
some time ago. Looking at the error you received it's usually
indicative that you had a corrupted .deb file. Usually running something
like "apt-get clean" will resolve this. Can you test and confirm?

Right on! It _does_ work with intrepid's kernel.
Now X is running with no xorg.conf and it's _nice_. I had to change
menu.lst so that it uses the "saved" kernel as the default... but I
can live with that.

This report is so minor, that I can't even believe I'm reporting it.
With that said, I am using Janty Alpha 6 and I noticed that after
startup when you roll over any part of the panel the desktop background
bleeds through the date.

Well you are totally right. NEXT_KEY and PREVIOUS_KEY are sending
notifications even if the music player is off. so I will open a bug to
gnome-settings-daemon
