I discovered this issue by accident. When first using Ubuntu 8.10 in
early Feb '09 the recommended video driver was 177. I installed a
program that I used in Windows that does have a Linux version (Bibble 5
Pro) and it was fully functional. I now also dual boot to Ubuntu 9.04
I have the problem with the iwl3945 only when connect to Wireless
network and WPA encryption, but WEP and open networks works great.

Bug #133197 complains about difficulties installing the Gnash plugin. I
only used the Gnash plugin as an example of a different issue, regarding
the apparent installation
I attempted to reproduce this, but it now seems impossible to upgrade
from breezy to dapper (under kvm). Since breezy is now also quite

I can't speak to the MTU issues, but I can confirm that in Ubuntu 8.10
using the same network, running the tests in parallel that FF3 has
issues with LinkedIn that Konq, Midori (webkit) and Chromium do not
have. Opera fails in the same manner as FF3.

I get the same error when testing profiles for opera and acroread. The
profiles work on a local disk, and also after running it once
unconfined. NFS is the key here, but AIUI the userspace implementation
works. (doesn't support locking though).
