The xorg zap is unrelated to Pidgin. Now, few minutes after a reboot it
happened again, but Pidgin wasn't running.
If I get a clue about this, I'll open another bug report regarding the
xorg behaviour.

Kile in Ubuntu 9.04 has a bug that makes it fail to insert one single
Chinese character like "的","你" or "," and it makes Kile actually no use
in Chinese. This bug has been fixed in r940069 but Ubuntu 9.04 using
r933829.
Can we fix this in Ubuntu 9.
There was some discussion on IRC regarding the problem, and that was the
instruction given back then. The issue is apparently somehow related to
a server having it's Ubuntu contents updated. I don't know if someone
would be interested in those tarballs, though also even the /var/lib/apt
can be quit

The workaround I posted was fine until I tried an update-initramfs for

wireless, I have a zero upload and a descent download rate equal to that on
wired connection.
On ethernet, there is no problem with upload. I can test the same router with

I cannot reproduce this bug in 8.10 with the same hardware. I'm not sure
whether it got solved along the way, or if it was a phantom at the time,
or if I'm doing something differently, but the bug should probably be
killed/shelved until someone else reports a repeatable issue.

If there are printing problems with Firefox (check whether printing from

- Upgraded with the latest kernel, and modules available there
- Rebooted with the newer kernel
- Disabled wifi by engaging the killswitch
- Waited 30 - 40 sec and disengaged killswitch

I am using a hardy desktop with an intrepid usb-creator deb.
It installed without complaint.

I've made a jaunty-alpha6 alternate x86 iso onto a stick with usb-creator which
did not boot
at all. The dell optiplex 760 said no op
I just tried to send files to my desktop via bluetooth. It works as
expected, if I send from my Nokia 6230, but from the N82 I get
"Connection failed". Tried both the Nokia UI and YBrowser's BT-Obex. On
the Desktop there is Hardy with all updates installed.

Yes, I tried all three of them. Same result. You get to see the "Basic"
view which wouldn't allow you to properly do your daily work even if you
worked with several workarounds.

John, my idea why it is a Firefox issue is based on the fact that even
when you change the user agent you get to see the "Premium" view, but as
