i've got the ame issue with Jaunty Alpha 5, i tried the solution to add
"options libata ignore_hpa=0" in /etc/modprobe.d/options or libata-
options without success.
Before i did the same manipulation on intrepid ibex and i worked without
problem.
Has someone resolved the issue on Jaunty ?

Yes, I have installed it. Until now it has been behaving just fine (i.e.
no more rmmod/sleep/modprobe needed).
As far as I'm concerned, this is a good workaround for the bug.
I should note, though, that I had to manually blacklist the ath_pci
driver. Otherwise that still got loaded first.

reason doesn't have a .po import from upstream, although gnome-panel,
which upstream was translated later than alacarte, does have a .po
import from upstream. If this tells you anything, please take it into
account. If not, then

I suffered the same thing, and mine is Kubuntu 8.10 latest.
And it seems some memory leak may happen. After a period of running(for
days), I would got my 2GB memory exhausted. This time freeze happen
after I only got tens of Mb memory. Not sure if it's related.
