I agree that this capability is needed. Whether or how to expose this
preference to the user in the form of a UI, is a different discussion.
notify-osd should have the technical capability to use a font other than
the system's application font, probably in the form of a setting in it's
configurat
This is a real bug, the specification includes provisions to address
this very case.
First, repeated messages from a user in IM should be appended in the
notification, so you see one notification which grows and scrolls rather
than multiple notifications. Each append extends the life of the bubbl

That is a nasty request for the following reasons.
1.) The whole rendering will have to be changed to be bullet-proof for
very extreme cases of values users can set. That will blow up the code.
2.) What should the UI for changing the summary- and body-text look
like?

Ah, apparently gcc encountered an internal compiler error and tried to
create a crash report. It seems you changed the permissions of
/var/crash/ to not be world-writable any more? it should be
drwxrwxrwt 2 root root 4096 2009-03-05 11:18 /var/crash/

Don't worry about -dbgsym or gdb, apport is written in Python.
The problem here is in backends/packaging-apt-dpkg.py, _get_mirror(); it
grabs the first deb line out of /etc/apt/sources to determine the mirror
to download Contents.gz from. This needs to be fixed to only consider
http:// URLs.
