I am using an old laptop with pentium 3 and 196MB RAM. I usually do not
open more than 6 tabs. It used to work. Occasionally slow though, i was
ok with this. But after last updates by Ubuntu it crashes quite

That's because when you shutdown, the shutdown sequence is invoked while
gnome-session is still running and gnome-session, along with your
.xsession file, are killed at the same time.
