I didn't spend much time with Kubuntu 8.10 yet but as far as I've tested it
yet, I think I should keep 8.04 and see if 9.04 is better when it's released or

I have be playing with Kubuntu 8.10 64 bit (a glutton for punishment I
hear you say!!)
Well after mucking around with kdebluetooth4 and stuff - I down graded
all 4.25 bluetooth components to 4.12 as suggested by Alex and using
bluez-gnome - bluetooth worked !

I also found that:
- different usb drives can show different problems; some is bootable and some
(old?) isn't.
- some (old?) motherboards (Asus P4PE for ex.) can not boot from usb drive, if
filesystem is not FAT16.
usb-creator not give me option to select a filesystem when it formats clean usb

I have the same problem { X server sometimes crash, sometimes crash all
computer (nor SysRQ is not active), but music still play } with Ubuntu 8.10
and with nvidia driver 177 and 173 (Nvidia 7600 GTS).
But my personal imepression is that X server crash less with nvidia driver

The RTL 8102E doesn't have a native driver under 8.10. Instead the r8169
module gets loaded, which may be the cause of your issues. One solution
is to compile a driver for RTL8101/8102 using sources from Realtek.

well, the upstream bug seems to be fixed as of ghc-6.10.1, so it should
be possible to enable GHCi in our/Debian's build as soon as ghc >=
6.10.1 rolls around for us

I have an annoying problem. When I boot my Ubuntu 8.10 with default boot
parameters, I get this error "ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0
action 0x6 frozen" approximately every 15 seconds.

Exact same problem. I using Xubuntu 8.10 (all the latest updates, as of
time of writing). I'm using VLC 0.9.4 . I'm using the ati opensource
drivers on a ATi Radeon 7000.
Changing the video options in VLC, telling it to play the video in
OpenGL. The video plays, but causes graphical glitches.
