I also found that my sound stopped working after upgrade to Intrepid
with an audiophile sound card. I get sound on the GDM greeter screen
but then nothing after that. I'm going to try removing pulseaudio to
see if that sorts out my problem.

Did you have any errors during the installation? Go to Applications -> Settings
-> Settings Manager -> Desktop.
Is there a checkmark on 'Allow Xfce to manage the desktop'?
Is there a checkmark on 'Show image'?
On the "Behavior" tab, under Desktop Icons, is 'file/launcher icons' selected?

Dominik, they made a change to how IPv6 is loaded with Jaunty. See
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1026105.
What does
$ ip a | grep inet6
show?
It might not be IPv6, but so far we haven't eliminated that as a prime
suspect. If we do, we'll look elsewhere.

internet doesn't work
Tried solving this through the method used above with limited success. New
xorg.conf attached.
- I can now get the resolution 1280x1024 working okay, although its wrong for
the monitor so some text appears a little fuzzy.

The bug is not actually on Anjuta.
It is in Yelp/rarian. Yelp calls function : rrn_info_find_from_uri() .
And that is where the malfunction occurs.
A bug report is already filed against rarian.
