Logitech V10 speakers don't work with Ubuntu 8.10 on my Sony VAIO SR-series out
of the box.

As you can see in the print dialogue, a big portion of the page remains
blank for no reason. If I print the page, it comes out just like that,
too. The only one that seems to be working in gimp is A4 without the
borderless option.

I can confirm that this bug is still present. Yesterday, I experienced
this bug when upgrading from Feisty to Gutsy and from Gutsy to Hardy.
(Unluckily, I can't decide at which upgrade step this bug occurred.)
Anyway, clickwir's solution worked for me. :-)

I was leaving this bug open while we still used console-tools, but as
people have observed that's currently deprecated in favour of kbd. We
switched to kbd by default in Ubuntu 8.10, making this bug effectively
obsolete since kbd doesn't suffer from this problem.

After a period of use, X gets incredibly slow - scrolling a terminal
window takes seconds to redraw, the mouse pointer is jerky, top shows X

This bug still exists for me in Intrepid Ibex, for example trying to
write data into a USB removable drive freezes the mouse. It seems
removing the ehci_hcd module prevents freezing, but this still annoys
me.
