We are unlikely to patch such a big thing in the Ubuntu package itself,
so I would recommend submitting your patch to the gravitywars developer
(gravityw...@yboris.com). If it is included upstream, it will then
either be packaged in Debian and synced into Ubuntu, or uploaded into
Ubuntu
on liferea the context menu appear only in the bottom left part of the

I can confirm this bug. Evolution crashes as soon as you hit the apply
button in the account settings. It doesn't matter if you really changed
anything. It seems that the settings are stored.

I'm using a dell and didn't have this problem with 8.04 32-bit (now using
8.10 64-bit). Isn't pulse-audio in 8.04 to? Then downgrading might work
(either ALSA and/or Pulse) to see which of them causes the problem.

This just started happening to me about 2 days ago and now happens every
time I open Firefox. I have Ubuntu 8.10 with lastest updates. Firefox
always opens with no borders and covers the whole screen. I can hit F11
twice to make it show properly. Unchecking "Legacy Fullscreen Support"

I've got that problem too
I've try these little config in /etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf
It seems to fix some of the problem,
ps. changing the font would fix the problem
ps. I also confirm it it problem happens on a fresh installed ubuntu 8.04 64bit
but not a 32bit one
~/.fonts.

One work-around that does appear to work for me under Gnome under 64
bit: Once you see the first tear or flicker, shutdown firefox, drop
to the command line, and ensure that firefox and npviewer.bin are no
