It seems that eventually the "System/Preferences/Keyboard/Mouse
Keys/Pointer can be controlled using keypad" turns itself on and causes

Fernando, thanks for resurrecting this bug. I have just confirmed the
same behavior exists on Intrepid as well. I'm not sure this is an apturl
bug, though. I think it may belong to Firefox. I'll re-open this against
both groups.

Same situation here: Mainboard Intel DQ45CB (quad core); kernel
2.6.27-9-generic.
I disabled HPET and can now confirm that logs are clean (no flooding).
Hopefully the new -10 kernel will fix it!

Are the later comments refering to the same bug as the original post?
The original bug description is not very clear. Is it ok to update it so
