ryanop, I used to have this problem, but the most recent update has
solved this. If I'm quick logging in, then I can normally just catch the
wireless trying to connect still, but if I take it a bit more leisurely,
then it's normally connected before I log in.

Generally library backports are not allowed. For libclamav (and all of
clamav) we are rather more liberal, but the reverse dependencies need
testing. That's the point of the PPA.
It looks like avscan is unsalvageable, since upstream has vanished.

I've experienced this as well.
Using kmix, I was able to enable the capture device. I was unable to
enable it using either gnome-volume-settings or alsamixer. The device
stays enabled after kmix exits.

With an help of Kubuntu Forums community I managed to get my connection back.
But I did changed from Dynamic IP to static IP, so I can't really say that
dynamic IP would work or anything.

To add extra data points, if I shift to VT1 (Ctrl-Alt-F1) then the
blinking works. It only stops the moment I change back to X. I tried
starting X by itself to see if that affected it and it didn't. In fact

kelmo, you wouldn't read about this bug on Debian's BTS, because it's an
Ubuntu specific bug. Last I checked Debian hasn't changed its boot
process to do all this stuff dynamically, i.e. attempt configuration of
everything you possibly can when it's discovered.

This bug affects me in jaunty as well, on an Intel Core Duo.
I'm trying to install Tor fresh, not upgrade it and I receive the
same broken package report. Behavior seen in synaptic and commandline
apt-get, though I assume that the difference is negligible.
