I tried upgrading my sparc based system from Dapper to Hardy last night.

I'm afraid the same problem affects HP EliteBook 8530p. The system
randomly freezes even after adding acpi=off to the boot command line and
disabling "Fan always ON on AC Power".

When I open any open office 2.4 application there is no text in any of the
headings and commands.
There is just a dash at every command and a graphic where the command has a
