I wasn't suggesting that this was no longer an issue. The bug was marked
to expire in Launchpad - to keep this from happening, I posted a comment
to ensure that it stayed active and would be looked at - that's all.
This bug had not been touched since May (6 months ago). And yes, I did
read the bug.
I cannot really confirm whether it is playing or not, since I am stuck
with another bug and the Audacious doesn't play at all now :-) in 8.10 .
But I can confirm that at least the displayed filenames are now in
proper international characters and not like %20%28...

I can confirm this on hardy, I was trying to get my user to access a nfs
share that belonged to a special group, without any success, until I
removed my user from other unrelated group. The limit seems to be 16

When pressing Ctrl+S to save the program does not save anythin, a small
'instant search' window appears instead. All other saving commands
(button in the toolbar or clicking in the file menu) do work fine.

- You generated the patch against the version in Intrepid (1.3.1-1) instead of
against the version in Jaunty (1.3.3-1). Download the source from Jaunty next
time.

The issue still persists on my computer, using the latest proposed
kernel to date. I also guess the issue is caused by the SCSI controller,
see bug #278176 (the issue seems to exist also in other distributions,
i.e. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=473305).
