I think that pressing the power button of the pc should trigger the shutdown
dialog of kde and not automatically shutdown the pc!
Last time I used ubuntu with gnome (hardy, some months ago) the behaviour was
to trigger the dialog and I think that in kubuntu/kde should be the same.

I'm having the same problem. I had no problem in Hardy but Intrepid is a
disaster in this and other ways.
The workaround doesn't work. I tried downgrading to f-spot - 0.5.0.3-0ubuntu2
from f-spot - 0.5.0.3-0ubuntu4 and that didn't make
I tried applying EspeonEefi's patch which seemed to fix resume from
hibernate, but resume from suspend still caused a crash.
Anyway Andy's fix worked for the laptop I was setting up, and it agrees
with the patch on thinkwiki.org.

When I try to import from my camera using F-Spot I get an error about not being
able to lock the device. I unmount the camera and try again and I get an "error

I upgraded Hardy to Intrepid with a fresh install but retaining my /home
on a separate drive/partition. Trackerd ran correctly (as far as I
could tell) on Hardy, but consistently eats 50%+ of my CPU on Intrepid.

I had the same problem after upgrade to 8.10 Kubuntu. Disabling that service
did not work, killing kde4d did not work. Eventually killing krunner having
service disabled did the trick!
My hardware is (old): 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Silicon
