Installed kubuntu 8.10 on my Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop. Laptop
originally came from Dell with Ubuntu 6.x installed.
Keyboard intermittently stops working. Mouse (touchpad) continues to
work. If I log out, the keyboard works in KDM and I can log back in and
everything is fine.
The only thing that backtrace an determine is that the crash is in
kdelibs. If you have time sometime soon, please get a proper backtrace
since we cannot handle this bug properly without it. Thanks again.

Here is a backtrace produced with the following sequence:
1. Boot an Intrepid CD in KVM with no -sound option
2. Start a live session
3. Confirm that the volume icon on the panel has the red "X"
4. Start pidgin
5. Options->Preferences->Sound

One small annoyance with using the Accessibility work-around, which at

check if the problem is with firefox or with your connection.
You can download opera at opera.com. Even though it's not in the repos,
there is a .deb-file and the installation is really quick and easy.
