I got around this by installing with kvm, format the drive, then boot
with virt-manager and do the installation without formating the drive.
kvm -m 512 -hda winxp.qcow2 -cdrom xp_sp2.iso -boot d
just format the drive
then boot with virt manager, do NOT format the drive, choose "leave file system

had a different model eMac, with a Radeon 9200.

I upgraded to 8.11 via Synaptic on intrepid this morning but Xorg
started in low res mode.
I fixed my setup by reverting xorg-driver-fglrx to the previous version
(only that package) and everything seems to work again...

This is an old problem still unresolved fully. The way it manifests for
me is, for example:-

This board has digital sound output via HDMI and a separate optical

I have looked at my /usr/share/X11/symbols/latin , br and us files
They all seem to be setting the keys propperly

Same problem here on Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10. But I do not have compiz
enabled. But it is working on openSUSE 11.0 with Gnome 2.22, so this
doesn't seem to be Gnome related.

I very much suspect this is actually a bzr issue, when lots of revisions
are imported into a repository. Other people have reproduced similar
behaviour importing large amounts of revisions using fastimport.

When I press F11 to make Firefox fullscreen, any new things that compiz draws
with effects, including menus and tooltips, make the whole screen/window blink
