many apologies, but i am unable to post the requested logs, the reason
being that as i mentioned i had tried for another attempt at upgrading
from hardy to intrepid, but due to this and other errors i was unable to
complete the upgrade.

Actually, once you try to access the samba module kdesudo should come up
asking you for your password to launch the module as root. The behavior
you describe sounds like it was launching the module as user however.
Please provide more information about your system. Clean 8.10 install or
upgraded?

I followed the instructions. This time, midori did not close unexpectedly but
instead freezed. I don't know if it is the same fault. Anyway I found
"segmentation fault" in the text file.
Without being involved in midori's code base, this could very well be

When I rebooted, I came back to la-la land where nothing worked.
Then scanned a few manpages and came to know there is something called ifconfig
which does the same/similar thing as /etc/network/interfaces so tried that one

Today on Intrepid I had this bug twice: The prompt box for password was never

device initialisation, and without the usual client/server model that X
uses. xinput and the Touchpad tab in gnome-mouse-properties use XInput
device properties, which are settable at runtime through the X11
protocol stream

This has been mentioned in an article by PC Pro (one of the biggest

Basically while installing automatic updates, the system crashed, then
once it rebooted things didn't work properly until "sudo dpkg

Being able to detect it would make it relatively straightforward to fix
in the manual partitioner. It'd still be an utter pain in the automatic
partitioner because ext3 is hardcoded in the recipe files. I'm not even

I just updated to the latest Ibex (2.6.27-7-generic) on my Thinkpad T40
(AIRONET Wireless Communications Cisco Aironet Wireless 802.11b) today

to 2.6.27-7-generic my nvidia driver issue seems to have been fixed, but
for some reason my bluetooth adapter no longer works.
