I just want to remind the devs that this bug showed up for the first
time when compiz was added to ubuntu. this bug did not exist prior to
the effects addition leading one to believe that the OGL rendering seems
to be getting in the way of saving the preferences.

ne more quick question. I cannot mount my CD player. The mesage says I
don't have the privelages. In my last installation this was no problem.

thanks for the report, that works fine for me i don't get the issue
decimal points works fine with the mouse (click on the . button) and
with the keyboard, do you get the same with another new user created on
your system? thanks.
