Thanks for your reply. The problem occured immediately upon upgrade to
Ubuntu 8.04, but shortly disapeared, after some automatic updates. I am
not sure which update fixed the problem. It never occured aftwards, it
all OK now.

Yes, I can understand both situations to be confusing to users, but I

I am not suggesting an extra button, when you click remove on a

broadcom is a company completely neglecting linux. this is why we only
have binary drivers, which noone in the linux community can fix. Wep
might be one of the things you are out of luck. Most likely WPA works.
Remember when you next time buy a laptop or something to not buy

that setting to the whole app window ... (i was menaing to do that since

@Dan: since it works after a reinstall, could this have something to do
with nVidia-specific settings in the X config (Bug #34043) or in
POST_VIDEO or SAVE_VBE flags in the acpi scripts? Could you check your

If I connect to a ftp account shortcut apear on the desktop. If I make a

For Firefox it's got somehow fixed, i.e. Firefox knows what program
handles 'peercast:' protocol.
For Epiphany browser it doesn't work right of the box, i.e. it asks for
a program to handle 'peercast:' protocol.
I'm not sure if this answers your question.

I can confirm this bug on two machines:
1) Dell Inspiron E1505 / 6400, Kubuntu 8.04, Compiz, KDE 3.5.9 and KDE 3.5.10
On this machine the built in keyboard functions fine, however USB keyboards
repeat keys with no output to dmesg.
