No, I tried PCL5c with CUPS+Gutenprint (recommanded). It works but only
in grayscale.
Indeed, PCL5c + hpijs works in color which is great ! (it's the first
time I get color working on it under Linux).
Generic PCL6/XL works but only in grayscale (both CUPS/Gutenprint and
hpijs).

Hm, I agree. Maybe I was a bit too enthusiastic about getting Ubuntu
into a shop. Still, many of HP and Lenovos come preinstalled with
FreeDOS, and I give our customers a tour of those laptops with Ubuntu
Live CD (even those with Windows, because of EULA). Could this be
considered a workaround?

It happened in Intrepid and it is OK on 8.04.
It hangs after locking screen, nothing works, I cannot switch to other
virtual consoles but network works correct.

I have exactly the same problem as billythegates describes. (see qoute

I found that when I uninstall the fglrx driver (by unselecting it in the
proprientary hardware drivers dialog) then the default driver is better.
It unfortunately still freezes occasionally...I hope this mobility
radeon
By the way, I am currently looking for ways to contribute to linux. I
can program and have a computer related degree, I just don't know the
linux development scene yet, so If anyone can point me in the right
direction I'll be happy to try and help find a fix to this bug!

only for your interest:
I tried to install ndiswrapper with an old version of Intel Wireless driver
(newer version does't work with ndiswrapper) and put iwl3945 in blacklist.
With this driver now the speed is ok, my transfer in over ftp is about
3MBytes/s and 1.5MB/s over samba.

I am still having this bug, at least on an updated 8.04 (not tryed intrepid).
Same problem when nautilus run as a regular user or under sudo. How to
reproduce:
1) crate a new directory and copy a 700 MB video file in it;
2) select a zoom factor > 100% (no matter if viewed as icons or not);
3) lau
