To fill in what's happened in the last few months: After failing to
install Hardy alpha6, I gave up and installed Debian 4.0 on my Averatec
laptop, so I failed to follow this up on the laptop.
However I did eventually install 8.04.1 on four desktop systems. This
went well, until I replaced a tube

I am currently using the 177 nvidia drivers with kernel 2.6.26.
I have an IBM thinkpad T61 laptop with an nVidia Quadro NVS 140M (rev a1)
graphics card.
After upgrading to the current driver, what usually happens

No idea what package it is actually, it's not network-manager since wicd
displays the same problem.
The problem: My wireless connection worked until installing Vista on
dualboot. There, I can see and connect to my SSID without any problems,
but it's not showing up in Ubuntu.

So in other words you did a "sudo apt-get install linux-backports-
modules-hardy" or do you mean recompiling? I'd like to try it because
now Ubuntu is crashing for any reason at the moment, not just network
related - run RhythymBox for a while and do something like press "Next
Track" and kernel pan

I tried with one laptop with updated hardy, another desktop hardy
updated, and still dosen't work.
In the previus version of hardy it worked.
When i plug the ipod the led flashes orange one time.
