This is at most a DoS, as mktemp safely creates the random file for us.
In the case that an attacker has filled the drive with all possible
combinations, mktemp will just fail to create the file, and scripts
using mktemp should equally fail. If there are scripts that don't
gracefully handle mktemp

This effects Ubuntu Studio as well. (I'd also imagine Xubuntu) As this
was the behavior before Intrepid I don't see how this would cause and
issue if the theme was dropped to suggests as it would only effect
people installing GDM from a CLI system. Even then, it just errors and

Yesterday I did the latest upgrade on my Ubuntu 8.04. I try to update
daily.
Now Pidgin is crashing all of a sudden, with no error reports. It just
