I get the error during start-up of the gnome-session. There are several
errors in the .xsession-errors, but nothing that appears to relate to
mixer-applet2 explicitly. The error occurs each time I start a session.

Sorry, that doesn't work. The nvidia drivers are in restricted, thus
they cannot depend on ia32-libs which is in universe. Also, n-glx does
not actually *need* ia32-libs, thus we shouldn't force this huge package
upon everyone who uses the nvidia driver. Can you please revert that
dependency?

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal
I upgraded to 8.04 from 7.10, through update manager.
After final restart terminal is not displaying command prompt, flashing
cursor is there in window.
Any command issued, do not do anything.

I think this check is generally correct, as if you actually need to
commit real changes to that partition table then the kernel will be
unable to do so while /cdrom is mounted from a partition within it.
However, I'll add a preseedable question to let you skip this in special
cases.

libGL.so is a symlink to libGL.so.$VERSION
libGL.so.1 is a symlink to libGL.so.$VERSION
libGL.so.$VERSION is the real file
(where $VERSION can be something like 173.14.09, etc.)

Reproducible in Hardy. The graphics editor goes into the next workspace
when Compiz is turned on. And when turned off it returns to the previous
workspace which has scilab main window (scilex).

I can confirm that the problem still exists; I am actually using dmsetup
version 1.02.20-2ubuntu2 on a Ubuntu hardy/8.04.1, which mentions fixing
