For comparison, I independently discovered 'setxkbmap -model evdev
-layout gb -option lv3:ralt_switch' upon encountering this bug, and it
worked fine for me.
I do hope somebody has made sure that the special cases (abnt2 and jp106
for Brazilian and Japanese keymaps) continue to work. :-)

Hi, I have a similar problem and reported it to ubuntuforums

This was fixed long ago, and the problems from April 2008 were unrelated
(see #209859). Please do not reopen generic bugs like these which are
"time specific" (i.e. PO downloads breaking in 2006 is likely not
exactly the same as them breaking in 2008).

I just tried to reproduce this problem (thanks for the instructions and
the codectest package) but it worked for me. I started with
"wheelie.mov" and that asked me for codecs, but started playing right
after they were installed. Then I clicked on the other ones and it seem
to be working too. T
