After running out of disk space on /boot in the middle of an upgrade
(due to Bug #105113), I noticed that update-manager marks all packages
as upgraded, even if some failed.
The problem is that even *IF* the user studies the log output and

This afternoon I booted Intrepid after a few days of rest, X couldn't
start and dropped me to a TTY. Tried to reconfigure X, found I had a
read only filesystem, so I ran fsck and all checked out. My fstab file

Tried what powertop suggested (the same as corep105 wrote) but it still
hangs..
btw, I deem it has something to do to GTK applications.. I am using
almost pure KDE, almost due to firefox, linuxdcpp and few other
packages. So, it seems that hangs do not happen to me when I am not
using the
Trashcan Widget in KDE 4.1 works fine for me with the one exeption, that
when I chose to empty the Trashcan, the Icon is not changed to an empty
trashcan.
When I move one more/new item to the trash and than (in Dolphin) choose
to restore it, the widget's icon is up to date now again (as empty).

Marking the bug as invalid for LTSP, looking at the description, comments and
the upstream bug there is no mention of LTSP. It sounds like a software bug in
a LTSP environment but in no way a ltsp specific issue.

[I got some help from BenC and mjg59 on freenode's #ubuntu-kernel]
It turns out that the kernel's IOCTL code just bails (returns an all-0
struct) if the MTRR size field is >=4G. There is no room in the size
field of struct mtrr_gentry (defined in /usr/include/asm/mtrr.h).

I can confirm this. (Is there anyone who can not?)
This should definitively be fixed for intrepid release. People could
spend money due to this false alarm.
