You hit the nail on the head Sebastien. From warm boot. Tried player and
it works fine, all features play as normal.
1. Opened, firefox started a youtube video. now player does not work as
described above.
2. Stopped player, but left it open
3. went back to firefox and now there is no sound using

KDE4 doesn't seem to honour the utf8 mount option always.

Metacity had compositing-manager set to true (I don't know why as I

Last thing to happen was I was viewing an HTML page that I deleted prior
