OpenSuse 11 LiveCD (in Failsafe mode) works.
In sysinfo it shows Driver: radeon. I'm not sure if this is what is being used

I am still able to repro on a Hardy box, yes.
I downloaded the codectest zip file. I removed the .rm and .swf files
as well as wheeliesorensonvideo2cbr.mov (because I don't believe there
are codecs for those; in any event, the codec installer buddy thingy
can't suggest anything for those) and ran

Is there really any chance of backporting poppler from Intrepid? I've
done a quick search in synaptic (I admit I don't know how to search for
dependencies via aptitude) and default ubuntu packages that depend on
poppler (and might need to be recompiled and put into backports) are
evince (obviously)

The permissions on yuor sources.list are broken. I'm not sure how that
could have happened, but could you try the following in a terminal
please:
sudo chmod 644 /etc/apt/sources.list
sudo chmod -R u+rw,go+r /etc/apt/sources.list.d
sudo apt-get update
That should restore permissions on these files

The problem still exists for me. I tried to make a bakctrace but it was
impossible for two reasons: I cannot find the debbuging symbols package but
even when I tried without them it seems that the program does handle the crash
itself and exits normally so when I type:

I think Empathy is not ready yet to replace Pidigin. We need, at least,
file transfer (which should be implemented during the GNOME 2.26 cycle
hopefully).
Anyway, desktop mailing or a blueprint is certainly a better place to
discuss a futur integration in Ubuntu.

thank you for your bug report, that's not a bug though, nautilus mounts
are available only for the session so after a reboot the location is not
available that's why the icon doesn't work, there is some other bugs
open about the behaviour not being optimal so I'm closing this one

Postscript printing not licensed for this printer."
I think it uses PCL instead, but there's no detection of that from

There has been some change in behaviour for me in Kubuntu alpha-3, now
the splash screen always fails to appear, and during boot I see only the
blinking "_" in the upper-left corner of the screen. When booting the
LiveCD it stays there for a while until normal bootup messages appears

Please consider making integrated product of apt/aptitude/netselect/axel
for downloading packages in most efficient and fastest way. The download
list can be based on dependancy tree, so some packages can be installed
while other are still being downloaded.
