I to am having the same problem with the freezing behavior on a T42
running hardy kernel 2.6.24-19-generic. As a side note, I only have to
run "echo 1 > /sys/class/scsi_device/1\:0\:0\:0/device/delete" after
manually unmounting the volumn. the re-insert of either the DVD or the
ultrabay hard drive
Subscribed ubuntu-universe-sponsors to take care of the latest debdiff
posted by Nathan Handler. I removed the two earlier debdiffs of the same
name to avoid confusion.

okay, erm, im hoping im doing this right, i typed
compiz --replace like everyone else seems to, and heres my terminal
output:

i've experienced the very same problem. in fact virtualbox often closes
with the virtual machine "booting" and leaves log files in my home
folder. the most recent one contains this information (if it's of any
help) :

I'm not sure what your last message means. Is there something I am to
do?
