This problem has been resolved. The culprit was the power unit (ac/dc
converter) that was too old to supply enough power to the hardware.
Once replaced with a brand new one the machine started to work
flawlessly. Looking back I now realize this was probably also the cause

After some more looking into this, The problem happened after I switched the
screen from a standard 17inch to a wide type 17 inch.
Tried some of the forum tricks but meesed up more than solved.
So I decided to restart with a fresh copy of ubuntu 8.04 and "voila" it works
now.

I know kubuntu doesnt use PA however i asked about xubuntu and i think the
answer was also no but i will ask again.
Can you please see if flash 10 is already in hardy. Daniel was marking bugs

I get this error when clicking on a hyperlink from a web page. Whan I
click the link gDb Install manager starts as expected but when click
"Open" the message below results. I am using ubuntu 8.04 LTS (hardy
