I've managed to reproduce this problem with eps files. Attached is a
screen shot of System Monitor showing Evince spawning what appears to be
two identical gs processes. Note that these gs processes are using 26%
CPU each. This varies up to around 40% and just hangs there

I've just found it renders the letters wrong if font-family set to
'Lucida Grande','Trebuchet MS',Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif

I would like to confirm this bug too. I first experienced it when I
upgraded to Hardy (I updated to Intrepid and it is still buggy).
I think it is related to the flash plugin. I noticed that I have
playback problems in rhythmbox only when Firefox is running (not all the
time, probably when there i
ogra, the problem happens with all Removable media such as diskettes and cdroms
pendrivers.

but people are you using loop aes. without loop-aes support i cant access my
filesystems. i dont see any reason why it was removed. it was an easy and
convenient way to build loop.ko modules.
anyway it is included in the next release, thanks. :)

Neither of my suggestions above worked. After updating my BIOS and
setting the kernel options "acpi=noirq pci=noacpi", I got rid of the
lockups.

This is very easy to reproduce here :
1. Launch firefox
2. Play a song in rhythmbox
3. Pause the song in rhythmbox
4. Go to youtube and play a video
5. Pause the video on youtube
6. Resume the song playback in rhythmbox <- this fails and you need to kill
rhythmbox.
