I finally found what is/was causing the uninterruptible problem on my
system.
After upgrading the kernel to 2.6.24-19 the programs that went
uninterruptible before worked as they should. Today I reinstalled the
drivers for my DVB/TV Tuner and I had the bug again. Uninstalled the
drivers and module

1.) /etc/udev/rules.d/025-lomoco.rules is named incorrectly, should be only two
digits.
2.) /etc/udev/lomoco.rules seems to check for the wrong subsystem: changing to
usb_endpoint fixed it for me.

I tested two different locations via ssh.
These servers were connected through the Menu>Places>Connect to server.
In the Gnome-Filemanager they show up correctly.
Gnome says this is a SFTP-connection.
In screem when choosing File>Open I can see the connection, navigate
through folders on the serve

FWIW I see this too, on several machines. One of which:
- ASUS P3B-F (Intel 440BX chipset)
- Hardy i386

- the camera is a Triplex Mini Taco (OV518+, OV7620)

Looking at it further, the package that makes OO go odd appears to be
'openoffice.org-gtk' This can be loaded by itself. When loading
'openoffice.org-gnome' the -gtk package is loaded as well.
I now have a workable OO but the look and feel is a bit retro. It would
be good to get it working with 'o

The boost documentation is outdated. Please read
/usr/include/boost/test/unit_test.hpp
which defines "main" (i.e. it is not a real symbol in the lib*.so).
You will find the requirement for two precompiler defines
if defined(BOOST_TEST_DYN_LINK) && defined(BOOST_TEST_MAIN)
