I'd prefer to see progress being made in updating nvidia-glx-new to use
the latest, working drivers than advising on how to manually install
them. I have a brand new hardy install on my XPS m1530, and I don't
want to sully it with a "hacky" video driver install if I can at all
help it!

Steve, as described in comment 12, I'm using kerberos authentication
inside an ADS network and I have no problems with nautilus and gvfs.
However my setup is different from yours. The smb.conf is like this:

realm = MYDOMAIN.COM
netbios name = %h-DEB
I have the same problem on a Fujitsu Scaleo P (with a sis 966 bridge), even in
Hardy.
Any chance this driver will work soon?
Or is there a fix I could do myself without recompiling the whole kernel?

I don't think so. -no decent OS would crash whole desktop because low mem.
1GB RAM most free, 1GB swap , presentation, I guess 60MB

Strictly, I think this is a bug, or at least a possible wishlist item.
I've linked it to Firefox's bug tracker. But since that has been around

aha. so xulrunner-1.9b5 also ships a libxul.so inside
/usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9b5/libxul.so. During package build, *this* gets
used as a dependency of xulrunner-1.9-dev.
Too sad, but that's not what is getting used for the result on my system:

As long as you try to use -rpath in your LDFLAGS, you are doing
something wrong. You have to use the standalone glue, which wouldn't
attempt to link against libxul.so at all.

UPDATE: I tracked this down to a third party app that when disabled,
stopped the repeatable crashing of nautilus. Safe to say the third part
app is responsible, couldn't work out how to close this bug myself.
