I am seeing the affect of this, too. In the last 2-3 kernel updates, I
have updated the kernel, but the VirtualBox modules lag by a couple of
days. Once the VB modules are installed, I reboot to the new kernel.
When I try to run VB, it fails because the kernel is not installed.

I have a more general complaint about startup. As OOo is loading a file
(but not there yet), if you mess with the window, it completely forgets
what you have done and resets the window. For instance, if you drag the
window while it is loading the file, it puts it back after it is fully
loaded. I ty

Yeah, I know. What I meant was that these Broadcom drivers being unavailable
isn't so much the same thing as Microsoft's monopoly (bug 1), but a direct
result of it. Marking bug 1 as a dependency

Hi All,
On Ubuntu FF-RC2 if I use manual settings I can add entries like 127.0.0.0/8
and it will bypass proxy. If I switch to use system proxy 127.0.0.0/8 does not
work but if I add 127.0.0.1 it does bypass 127.0.0.1.

Update: This isn't every single time on my Compal CL56, but it is at
least 50% of the time.
Looking through the logs, I see this show up occasionally:

Hello! In the meanwhile I was know what's the problem, and it's the
ACPI. If I edit the boot line with ACPI=OFF and NOAPIC, everythings OK!
(Sound, 3D, Internet[not iwifi]) Excluding ACPI's "features", the
notebook battery status, suspend mode...etc.

I can confirm this on Kubuntu 8.04 64-bit. I have 2x nVidia 8600GT
cards, using the closed drivers (installed via envy).
I'm not clear on how the themes work, but I'm guessing that KDE wouldn't
be using the GNOME human-murrine theme, so I suspect that is not the
issue for me anyway.
