Halting the upgrade is one thing, introducing a security/privacy problem
by starting a motion server on startup/install without telling the user

I (and my colleagues) have the same problem with these versions of
gnome-keyring-daemon and Evolution when using the Evolution's Exchange
plugin.
It can be observed on i386 and amd64 platforms.

I activated emerald /which didn't work after the upgrade too. Just type
"emerald --replace" into the command box of the window decoration
section of the compiz config settings manager. After getting emerald to
work, 3d windows work flawlessly.

I think some Ubuntu modifications to backuppc package (like preferring
apache2) should be moved to Debian, then merging changes would be
quicker and backuppc would be more up to date in Ubuntu.

Both of these are metapackages, so no functionality is lost by removing
them. If you choose to remove the openoffice.org packages, then these
language-support-* metapackages will be removed as a harmless

French translation of "gcc --version" is nonsense
OK - I tried reinstalling and nothing changes. I've attached a shot of
