I'm having similar problems with Hardy Heron.
Gutsy Gibbon was ok for sound, but I get nothing having upgraded.
Appears to be a failure to recognise my on-board sound device.
I've packaged together output of files recommended by
DebuggingSoundDevices page.

I have this same issue with HVR-1300 running under Hardy kernel
2.6.24.17. After boot, the DVB channels are not tuned in MythTV. No
channels are not found for my DBV card setup in the Myth backend channel
scan either. However, if I use create a temporary V4L card entry and try
to scan the channels
I would be interested to know whether running 'sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda2'
from Ubuntu deals with this. (This has been a problem in the past, but I
thought it was no longer an issue ...)

Ok, Marting fixed bug 221968 in jockey, however here's what happens with his
fix (which works) when I try to enable the desktop effects:
1) 1st try: it says that "Desktop effects can't be enabled".

Why do you think that this SEVEN seconds delay is a bug? Gutsy has many more
features than Edgy.
I'm pretty sure that the devs are trying to make Ubuntu as fast as possible so
unless you know exactly that something is making the login time unnecessarily
longer you shouldn't report this as a bug.
You can't see the local dialog? You've specified so little information
and this bug cannot be reproduced by anyone else so I'm closing this

I had a similar problem trying to run a Python-based OpenGL application
on a minimal install.
It turns out, the Python OpenGL module uses the ctypes module to find
libGL, which in turns relies on binutils' objdump.
Try installing the binutils package, and see if this solves your
problem.

I have this on linux-image-2.6.24-16-generic on an eeepc, I don't
believe it's entirely down to this upgrade..
