Since hardy, the gnome mixer and gnome-sound-properties don't choose the
right device to turn down the volume. It chooses "0 : Realtek ALC660
(OSS mixer)" instead of "1 : playback : ALSA PCM on front : 0 (ALC 861
analog) via DMA (PulseAudio mixer)". My laptup is an asus a6tc.
I've been using Ubuntu since Warty and somewhere along the line I must
have installed the postgres server. I had an entry for postgres in
/etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. When I manually removed them, the slocate
package successfully uninstalled and installed again.
What gave me the clue was an error

That is a bug with the individual icon theme, and should be filed
against the theme.
When an icon theme isn't complete, it falls back to gnome to fill the
missing icons. The theme can specify a different fall back and should
probably use something closer to it's style.

However, after applying the current updates to the notebook and desktop
installs, both are now able to automount the crypto-thumbdrive
sometimes.
In the attached log of a successful mount it is visible that 'key slot 0
unlocked' still happens after 'probe-volume' - but before

My USB ports also does not work on Hardy. MY Flash drive, mass storage
and Kensington optical mouse no longer works. Having them plugged in on

Hardy doesn't detect (with xev, there isn't any keycode) 3 of my laptop
keyboard shortcut. My laptop is an asus a6tc and on gutsy the web
browser shortcut worked. The keyboard shortcuts are : internet (launches
