Tested this issue on current Debian Unstable (lenny/sid) and could not
reproduce this problem.
The issue seems to be stemming from the fact that Ubuntu uses Python 2.5.2 and
Debian uses Python 2.4.5.
Btw, what is the rationale in choosing a different version of Python
from Debian as the base?

Same thing here. It's weird that there wasn't much activity in the git
repository after the kernel was tagged 2.6.24-16-openvz. But I don't
know how the compilation process is automated.

I can confirm that the attached debdiff fixes the problem for me -- i.e
amarok now shows "pulseaudio" as a xine output plugin and autodetects it
correctly.

i switched the settings to use the snack tcl library and things work ok

I can confirm this bug.
Using Ubuntu Hardy 64bit with 2.6.24-15-generic kernel and Firefox 3 beta 5.
I am unable to stream video using mozilla-plugin-vlc. I only get a
white(gray) triangle in the window, but no picture and no sound.

OK, I did a bit more searching and I found a post by Mario suggesting to
'rm -r ~/.mythtv/themecache' and happily, that fixed it. Sorry for the
noise.
