I can confirm this issue. I first noticed this when trying to play
nethack and some of the colours were incorrect (Yellow was brown, white
was light gray etc, perhaps a bit different situation that what was
described above). I am using current hardy beta (as of today), amd64 and
nvidia.

I can indeed confirm this bug. It is not related to lvm however. It also
seems to be the same bug as #202933.
I have tested both installing from the beta cd and upgrading from gutsy. I have
also tested both the 32 bit and the 64 bit
version of Hardy beta. The problem seems very consistent:

If i install gpg-agent and activate it in ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf so that both
gpg-agent and seahorse-agent is running the problem is solved.
So maybe it would be good to install gpg-agent by default if gpg is installed
to make sure people can access their smartcard and use seahorse.

Ok, after a bit of digging (should have done this in the first place),
I have Finnish keyboard and I noticed that some special characters
(eurosymbol, äöå) don't work as well. I was able to fix that and colours
by doing:
