Using 'icewm 1.2.33-1ubuntu2' on Hardy (2.6.24-8-generic and
2.6.24-15-generic kernels) the taskbar doesn't respect the
'TaskBarShowClock=1' directive in ~/.icewm/preferences -- no clock is
shown. This occurs whether using a selected font or using
Stable Release Updates are really for only critical bugs or significant

Yes, I think so. (7.10 to 8.04) Desktop effects where either set to
minimal or off. When I looked into "Systemueberwachung" I found that a

I can confirm using nvidia-glx-new. I had installed it (in 7.04) via the
Hardware Drivers Manager. It was active during the upgrade.

Camorama is an old program that uses V4L (Video 4 Linux), but your iSight is an
V4L2 device. uvcvideo doesn't have a working compatibility mode for V4L1.
You would need to patch camorama (which isn't actively maintained anymore) to
use V4L2. Or you can use the newer and better Cheese. :D

I installed the ppa xine-lib and first tests are very promising. I have some
crashers with demux mkv, but don't know
if they are related to the pulse audio change or some other dependencies. I
wasn't able to test various formats yet

That would be the patch in comment 2. I am not sure if it's worth
breaking up that patch further, from the technical point of view it
would be best to take it completely, to ensure a high quality package
for the LTS release. I put quite some effort into the merge and testing

which package exactly but yes, xorg-driver-fglrx is installed:

All similar symptoms reported has been AGP trouble. Your case is also
failing with PCI, so I don't really know. Or maybe you have two issues,
one with the monitor
