Sorry, it was premature rejoice. I checked now and the workaround with the file

Having the same experience.
First I thought system locks up due to fglrx driver for graphic card,
but it occurs also after uninstalling it. I have done a fresh
installation of Hardy Beta from cd (upgrade from Gutsy did not do this).

Attached Interrupts on desktop full on with wifi active..
After some minutes there is still 1,5k interrupts without a reason, so problem
is definitely not gone.

In both Movie Player and MPlayer the colours are totally 'of' when playing
movies. Very like 'colour infrared' films. Pink grass etc. Gxine did not even
open the files at all, but that might have different causes. I just installed
the Beta of Hardy and have all the updates.

Ok, debian/rules change are fine. But I won't upload this shipping the
preinst/prerm/postinst, and without them the build fails.
So you can either find someone else who will upload it, convince me why they are
fine there, or fix it.

I am still unsure of using X tools though, don't these all require an X

[Hardy] miro spontaniously crash
By coincidence I had a VMWare VM open today when it happened again and I
can confirm what Matt said, ie:
- The keyboard worked perfectly in the VM, including the modifiers like
shift, etc
- Newly-opened applications were crashing, eg I opened gedit to store
the output of xev, and gedit crashed; t
Confirmed.
I use Xgl on an Acer Aspire 5100-5023 laptop:
AMD Turion64 x2 TL-56 (1.6GHz)
ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 (256MB shared memory)
2GB DRR2 RAM
etc.
