After upgrading to the 2.6.24-15-generic kernel in Hardy my computer
failed to boot. The progress bar would load 2 blocks and then everything
would stop.
When I tried recovery mode the same thing happened but I could see a

On the server machine:
netstat -a -n --program | grep 2
shows nothing, so the port doesn't seem to be in use before launching
sshd.
I don't understand why sshd complains about:

After this morning update (tried yesterday late in the evening and it
did not work, so it is this morning) there is some consistent
improvement:
-Plugging the HD it is recognized, mounted, and Nautilus manages to show
the contents without crashing.

There is a difference between gksudo (graphical equivalent to sudo) and
gksu which will prompt for the password of the so called "root" user
(not superuser).
