The problem is that the sun-java6-javaws.desktop is incorrect. It currently
runs the viewer:
Exec=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.05/bin/javaws -viewer
It should just be javaws when you want to send it a java webstart app so it

The normal cause of this sort of problem is wxWidgets/Xaralx
incompatibility, or GTK/wxWidgets incompatibility. I doubt it's the
latter if it works on autopackage. I suspect that the problem is related

If I change all of the playback devices in gnome-sound-preferences to
Multichannel Playback, then I can get all my application sounds and the

I'm in trouble with postgresql-8.2 with ubuntu 7.10 server too.
After a fresh install, postgresql was working fine, but after a safe-upgrade
they stopped.

This is probably caused by the wrong encoding. Usage of the right
argument for the encoding of the file should help this.

I've used aptitude purge to completely remove the packages gvfs gvfs-
backends libgvfscommon0 nautilus nautilus-data, removed the downloaded
copies from /var/cache/apt/archives/ and redownloaded and installed
ubuntu-desktop gvfs-backends libgvfscommon0 nautilus nautilus-data (and
all the other stuf
